The World Reiki
Association,
formed in September 2002, is a community of healers, teachers, and
students who have united to promote personal growth and spiritual
development. We want to bring our community together to promote
mind, body and spiritual health on the internet and in our own
communities.
We are here as a resource and informational membership association.
Reiki The Sacred Healing Art
Reiki is an ancient healing art that has been around for thousands
of years. In the mid 1800's a spiritual man,
Mikao Usui re discovered Reiki while meditating at one of the sacred
mountains, near the city of Kyoto. Dr. Usui soon established healing
centers in Tokyo where he created the three levels of training.
Reiki is a Japanese word. Rei-meaning "higher power" and Ki-meaning
"universal life force energy". Therefore, Reiki is "spiritually
guided life force energy".
We know that Reiki uses universal energy to heal from the inside out
and that it works not only on the physical level, but the emotional,
mental, and spiritual levels as well. Reiki heals by directing
universal energy to flow through ones body, freeing for
restrictions, blockages or negative energy. This allows the life
force energy to flow in a healthy, balanced, and natural way.
Reiki is a wonderful healing technique that anyone can learn, a
wonderful gift that allows us to reconnect with ourselves and others
in a warm and loving way.
Since the time of Usui Reiki it has flourished into many different
styles and forms of healing, all of which encompass the mind, body
and spiritual connections as Usui did.
Our Creed.......
Reiki is an art of unconditional love, teaching the student/client
to open the door to receive a balancing of the mind, body and
emotions.
Reiki is a journey: a realization that the choices made in this
life, to bridge the soul and ego’s separation, is the thread and
strength of wellness.
Reiki is to learn, gently and trustingly, to open the heart through
unconditional love, that it might know countenance and Divine Will.
Reiki is to love yourself and to joyously experience grace.
